International Film   Guarantors goes beyond simply placing a completion guaranty. Through our full   range of resources and our systematic method for issuing completion guaranties,   we are able to play a key role in bringing films to the   screen.

First, we evaluate a prospective project for a completion guaranty by reviewing specific key elements, including:

  • Script
  • Shooting locations
  • Shooting schedule
  • Budget
  • Resumes of key personnel
  • Production financing commitments

Next, we usually meet with the producer and other key production personnel whose ideas and opinions can help us better understand certain aspects of the production. At these meetings, we ask the production team members to provide an overview of their backgrounds and capabilities and explain unusual or complicated conditions.

Utilizing the information gathered during our meetings with the production personnel and the materials submitted by the production company, we determine if we can proceed to guaranty the project as presented.

If we accept the project, we ask the producer to furnish us with certain required contracts and other documents for our review and approval and our in-house business affairs staff begins preparing the completion guaranty and related legal agreements.

Other services we are able to provide include:

  • Recommending key production personnel
  • Preparing or approving legal documents, including delivery schedules, security documents, notices of availability and letters of credit
  • Monitoring the progress of production and cost reports
  • Cosigning drawdown requests and borrowing certificates
  • Meeting with production personnel if necessary
  • Dedicating in-house production, production finance, post-production and business affairs executives to your film and making them available at all times for consultation and problem solving
  • Providing an on-site representative as needed
  • Preparing or providing consultation regarding post-production requirements and scheduling
  • Analyzing causes for cost overruns or production delays
